This movement signifies the advancement of monsoon rains into the northern regions of the country.
A depression that formed over Bangladesh has shifted north-northeast and has weakened into a well-defined low-pressure area over Meghalaya and surrounding regions by 5:30 PM on May 30. By 5:30 AM on May 31, it further diminished into a low-pressure area over northeast Assam, becoming less pronounced by 8:30 AM.
